Installation Guide

The GateD makefile system is setup to allow the compilation of gated for different architectures using the same source tree. Each architecture uses it own object directory to store machine- dependent object files. The object directories consist of a few configured files and symbolic links for the majority of the GateD files. They are named obj.<arch> where arch is related to architecture of your system. As for the 3.6 gated version, a new autoconfiguration process is provided. This feature is available on a restricted set of architecture, and you may need to use the old (before version 3.6) gated installation procedures.
